What's Hot and What's NOT.

So it's back to school and everybody is getting their flyest gear and tryna come to school lookin fresh. Some people however, try but don't succeed.
So I've deemed myself the designated fashion police, at least for MY blog.

Cropped tees... not for everyone!

I'm not saying you gotta be skinny because every body type can be beautiful but you gotta wear clothes that flatter your body. If your stomach sticks out more than your butt, I'm gonna need you to spare us the sight. Nobody wants to see your jelly roll hanging out.

Sneaks...shoe game must be on point.
When I see a guy I first notice his face, of course, then his smile then....his
SHOES!
So fellas please please please don't try coming to school with busted sneaks, cuz we will notice.
And certain shoes such as filas, u.s. pollo assn and them off brand payless shoes dont count even if they're brand spanking new.

Another thing ladies, your weave. YOUR WEAVE MUST LOOK BETTER THAN YOU REAL HAIR.
You can't be tryna stunt with a jacked up weave that look worse then ur real hair, thats dead. And your weave needs to blend with your real hair, the colors should match. You cant have black hair peeking out of your blond weave, not cute. Also, make sure you press you edges I mean if your gonna wear weave at least make it look good and not fake.

Miss Teen USA 2010!

So this is a big year for Maryland in the pageantry world. The former Miss Maryland Teen 2010, Kamie Crawford from...Montgomery county I might add (she went to Churchill High School) was crowned the new Miss Teen USA.
And everyone knows these pageant girls(I'm one myself but still) have been groomed since birth practically but Miss Teen Maryland was Kamie's first pageant ever! Then she wins Miss Teen USA which was her second pageant ever!! crazy right?
As a fellow crown wearer and title holder I would like to give Kamie a shout out and congradulate her on the big win.

I've been thinking alot lately that I want to train and work with some people in the industry towards possibly competing for Miss USA when I'm like 22 maybe. I'm only 18 right now but I'm dreaming big! lol My short-term goal though is to win Miss Africa USA 2011 next year (God-willing), I will be representing Guinea in the pageant .

My thoughts: Building of the Mosque near ground zero site

I strongly believe in the right of the people and specifically freedom of religion.

The facts:
-There is a mosque being built in downtown Manhattan a couplde of blocks from where the Twin Towers stood before the 9/11 attack.
-Many people believe that this is a sensitive choice to build the mosque there as it would associate negative thoughts and feelings to the families and victims of the attack.
-President Obama supports the project

The way I see it, the only way you could feel that it is wrong to build the mosque there is if you have the discriminatory ideology that muslims as a whole are to blame for the 9/11 attack. The fact of the matter is just because the people involved in the the attacks happened to be muslim doesn't mean all people of the Islamic religion are corrupt nor that all muslims are terrorists. Which unfortunately a lot of people think that way. why do you say? because of IGNORANCE!
I mean if this is how people want to go about things then I guess we shouldn't have a church near all those places where any christians committed serious crimes in our nation right?
I mean come on people! The reasons behind opposing this project are absolutely ridiculous.
Do you guys know there is already a mosque 4 blocks from the world trade center that has been operationg for over a year. I never heard any controversy about that, so what I think is now that its election season politicians wanna get people all rowdy so they can get publicity and try to polarize people so they can get some votes!

In a recent interview Pres. Obama stated, "Let me be clear: as a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country," "That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."

By the way for anyone who didn't know the Arabic word 'Islam' simply means 'submission', and derives from a word meaning 'peace'.
