iWearAfrican

I've always said when I become rich I'm gonna wear all african clothes, everyday (african clothes can be expensive especially since the kind I like are custom made in Africa) But I really love the intricate fabrics and patterns that my people use to create such beautiful clothing. the best thing about african clothes is that the fabric and coloring are usually all handmade. African clothes are so versatile, there are african couture gowns that serve as amazing evening wear. There is the traditional clothing that can consist of pants, dresses, and skirts and I promise they are things you can wear on a daily babis and people will look at you like "that's dope". Yes I say "DOPE" allll the time actually. My friends always tease me for it cause I speak kinda proper so it's weird hearing me say things like 'dope' or 'yo'. lol
Anyway doe, while in Georgia for Thanksgiving break, my cousin had a welcome party for her new babygirl. Whenever we have any type of  family gatherings we all wear our african clothes and I feel like it doesn't get enough recognition so I thought I'd get ya'll hip.

My neice is a little fly one. Peep the Burberry trench coat and Michael Kors flats she's wearing!

Shoutouts to my friend Mikael for stopping by to see me before going back to Florida!

Went to my couysin's sweet 16 afterwards. It was a black and white theme. Happy Birthday Ayana, Love you!

Here are a few photos of some Africa clothing via the "I Wear African Campaign"

you can't tell me that you wouldn't wear this. it's too dope.

An eye for detail.

Sometimes we are too busy living life to notice all the amazing things around us. The smallest things that we may overlook can be the most beautiful. I was at my brother's house in Georgia during thanksgiving break and I noticed how well decorated the house was. It's not the biggest house, they don't have a mansion or anything the the house is so cozy and vibrant. The house is filled with natural tones and little bits of color that bring the decor to life. Whenever my friends or their parents came to my house they would always compliment the vases, couches, and the handmade wooden floors. I've really been into photography lately so I went around the whole house taking pictures of the the walls, furniture, paintings, vases, anything that I thought had great detail. I don't mean to be exposing their house like that but it's in a positive & tasteful way so I'm sure they won't mind.lol

Got a little carried away with the photography...

thats not my brother's house btw.

DISCLAIMER: All these photos were taken with my basic Olympus digital camera so they not that great but I just wanted to show the different, colors, textures, and patterns that made the house look so great.

This is MY fashion blog.

I know I've made this my everything blog but Fashion is something very important to me so I'm gonna start posting more pictures of my outfits. Right now I'm into everything big and oversized my sweaters, jackets, trousers, evrything but my shoes cause I like having small feet. Atleast for my height. I'm 5'8 and I wear a size 7-7 ½ =)
I mentioned in a previous post that knit sweaters were in style so I decided to wear one of mine. The one I wore is great because it's long enough to be worn as a dress with the right belt. I wore my burgendy american apperal tights to add some color to the nuetral toned sweater. Funny thing is, I threw on the levi's jean jacket cause I figured it would be cold but tell me why today ended up being one of those random warm days. Whenever I wear my lil mini skirts and whatnot it's freezing, but when I bundle up it's a sunny day. smh
My awesome friend Sharon actually got some nice shots of me so these pictures are halfway decent for the quality of my camera.
