Current Events

I talk alot about fashion and myself, and more about myself. lol But as Miss Guinea North America I'm considered a leader in my community. A lot of young girls look up to me and aspire to be like me and I think it is very important for me to be well informed about the world. I have talked about current events in the past on this blog and I plan to do it more in the future.
Now I've noticed that many of my friends and peers don't know much about what's going on in our own states/cities, not to mention the world. People know when the new jordans will come out but not who the governer is. I live in Maryland and our current Governor who has been serving since 2007 is Martin O'Malley and the Lt. Governor is Anthony Brown who is very handsome btw, dude looks like Obama.lol Anyways we are the future of this country and we really need to get more involved. If you aren't happy and you feel that we need change don't sit at home and complain about it, get out and vote for a leader who you feel will bring this change, or write a letter to the mayor, senator, or governer. Even watching the news every night so you know what's going on helps.
Before you decide that you know enough or don't care, ask yourself...

Do you know what the war in Iraq is about?
Does the price of gas effect you....do you know why it's so high?
Do you know the President's agenda for the next few years?
Do you know how the current economy will effect your future? (student loans, jobs)
Are you registered to vote?
What are our tax dollars being used for?
What does the universal healthcare plan entitle?

There are may more things we have to think about but those were just a few general ideas. Remeber in a democracy the people rule but if you don't speak your voice will never be heard.

Me with Governor O'Malley.

Day 10

Day 10 – A photo of your favorite place to eat.

I feel like I change up the challenge for each day.lol I do what it says but in my own way. Like today, it says post a pic of my favorite place to eat but I have many favorites depending on my mood and how hungry I am. I also always order the same thing at each restaraunt.

Day 9

Day 9- What perfume do you wear?

I'm currently using Outspoken by Fergie, my brother sent me that and a few other perfumes a couple of weeks ago. I really like this scent, it's not too strong. Cause when I smell people from a mile away I know the perfume is cheap.lol It's a light, crisp, feminine aroma of berries and tuberose.

The Show Goes On

I don't have to say anything because anybody who knows me is well aware that I love Lupe Fiasco. He is my favorite artist, period. And when we get married, all of you are invited to the wedding. lol. But really I adore his music, his intelect, and his whole persona. He released the video to his hit single "The Show Goes On". I love this joint. Ya'll should go buy it on itunes.

Day 8

Day 8 – A song to match your mood.

This is one of my all time favorite songs by one of my favorite singers, Faith Evans.
It matches my mood perfectly because someone keeps apologizing to me but I don't wanna hear it cause I feel like they always do the same thing so they not really sorry.

Day 7

Day 7 – Your favorite quote.

I have two favorite quotes, both by Paul Coelho a brizilian novelist.

"We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen."

"We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It's one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it's another to think that yours is the only path."

Day 6

Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.

I always wanted a bunny rabbit. They are the cutest. I want a little grey one that I can love and cuddle and feed him little carrots for him to nibble on. lls. sike nah but I really love bunnies, I think they're adorable.

Day 5

Day 5 – Describe your first love.
When I saw this question I honestly was gonna change it and make up my own but this is MY blog so I figured I might as well keep it real. Who knows maybe one day I will look back at this and laugh.
Well my first love is someone I will never forget. Maybe cause I see him almost everyday.lol I met him in 9th grade and I swear I never thought I would fall for him. In fact I use to ignore him and refused to tell him my name for the longest but eventually we got to know eachother and started talking. We talked eveynight and eventually I found out he had a girlfriend. YES, I was once a homewrecker but nowadays I look down on that but I was only 14 at that time. And I liked him so much that I didn't care. I was a fool though cause he never did break up with his girl for me but our little affair went on for months. I learned a valuable lesson though. If some1 really cares for you nothing in the world will stop them from being with you. Ladies, remember that. Never settle for being someone's number 2 because believe me there is someone out there who will make you number one. I said he is not out of my life becuase although I moved to georgia for two years I come back to Maryland and here he is, at my school. lol Now that we're older and more mature we have come to a point where we can be friends. Well sorta becuase we still fight sometimes and call eachother out on the past but it's all good. He says I got mean, but he made me this way. I use to be this sweet naive young girl but now I'm not as loving or as trusting towards men. It's hard to gain my trust. But I have an open heart and an open mind.
P.S. I still have love for you B!

Hope ya'll been keeping up with me through this challenge.lol
Everyday has been easier than I thought but like I said, it's cause I'm on break.

I wanna be a supermodel.

Photos from a recent shoot.

She got kicks but she rather wear heels.

I'm really not a sneaker head but I missed out on the space jams so when I heard the cool grey 11's were coming out I had to get'em. Fresh out the box, didn't even try them on just bought them this morning. Thank goodness my feet are small so I wear a boys size cause not only are my sneaks cheaper but they don't run out as quickly. When I walked into the store the man didn't even say hi he just said "All the mens sizes are sold out." lol. Mind you the shoes had only been released for about 8hours. Oh well, I got my pair.

Day 4

Day 4 – Your favorite photograph of your best friend.

We been past being best friends. These are my sisters. I love my girls, ever since we met in 8th grade we have been inseperable<3

My favorite pictures of us are where we are acting all silly and goofy, basically in our natural habitat.lol
I couldn't find any pictures of all four of us cause I swear this girl is always MIA but I love her none the less.
The glue that holds us all together.....Perside!

Day 3

Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.

I swear I just recently started dating, I mean I have had boyfriends but we didn't use to go out to lunch, dinner, movies, bowling etc. I thought I was the only one but all my friends agreed that growing up they didnt have dates like you see on tv or read about in those Judy Bloom books .
But now I don't play, if you can't take me out and pay for atleast the first date then I don't know why I'm talking to you.lol I like gentleman, who open the door, compliment you, actually come to the door to get you and not call or text you to come out. The guys that bring you flowers or boxes of chocolate...just because. Honestly, I'm a hopeless romantic. I always want my significant other to know how I feel and I'm super affectionate! But my perfect first date would be a group date to like the roller skating rink (I love roller skating) so that way we can get to know each other but at the same time it won't be awkward like being alone. Especially if you just met the person or you are going on a blind date, better safe then sorry. Also I would meet up with the person rather that have them pick me up, that way they won't know where you live cause who knows if you're gonna want a second date.lol Another reason for the group date is you can see how the person is around the people they are most comfortabe with, their friends. You can really tell how someone is gonna treat you based on how they treat their friends. I think the worst place to go on a first date though is the movies cause you don't get to talk. I know this wasn't the cutest answer but I'm a psychology major so I pretty much over analyze everything.

Day 2

Day 2- A photo of something you ate.

I'm african so my aunt spent allllll day making one of my favorite dishes...maffe tiga. That means peanut butter stew.lol It's really good, all my non-african friends like it too. Instead of eating it with rice I ate it with this other african food, I dont know the name nor do I know what its made of but it's good.

Now other things I ate....lol

Applebee's and IHOP. yum

I Love A Good Challenge: Day 1

I am officially on winter break and since I will be off for a month and I don't have a job I have a lot of free time! lol.Lately I been feeling like I'm focusing a little too much on fashion. Cause if you look back to when I first started blogging I would write a lot of funny stories/facts etc and my blog had more of a personal feel. So to bring back that closeness I decided to do a 30-Day Blog Challenge! Everyday I will be writing a new post on random topics that the challenge requires, I won't tell you guys now cause I feel like it will ruin the surprise so you just gotta check in daily and see.

My first challenge is: Day 1 – A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

This a picture of me before my senior prom 2010.

Anyways about my day, wow, today isn't the most interesting day to talk about seeing as how I slept till 12 and didn't do a thing. Man I was bored. I hung out with my cousins all day, I love my family. We had the New York style pizza from Jerry's which is $5.99 on Mondays, it was so damn chewy my jaw started to hurt after one slice, I wouldn't recommend it.lol I spent most of the day laying around and doing nothing productive. I wanted to finally do my DIY (Do It Yourself) of this frill scarf but I'm at my cousin's and they don't have a single pair of scissors in the whole house -_- I thought about using a knife to do it but that doesn't seem like a good idea (kinda ghetto) I told you my day was boring.lol Ok I'm done rapping. Promise the rest of the days of the challenge will be better.

GutterStud

These House of Gasoline studded platforms are beautiful. With shoes like this you can get away with wearing anything. Even if you go outside naked with these on shoes, you're a winner.

Find it here

And No Darling I Don't Dance...

When I first heard that infamous line from Roscoe Dash's "No Hands" I thought he said "look ma no hands and no dollas I don't dance"  u know like a stripper, that would have been tough tho. lol Anyhoo I went into Charlotte Rousse after seeing a sign outside that said SHOES $20. As long as I have money there is no way I can pass up a good sale. I saw this girl with these leopard print booties in her hand soon as I walked in and I knew I had to go home with them. They aren't the most comfortable...Ok so I can barely walk with them. But they are so cute and for $20 that's a steal.

I had a party to go to later that night so I seized the opportunity to wear'em. I love leopard print with red so I paired it with my favorite red blazer again. Everyone in the DMV must have been at that party cuz I was meeting old friends from elemantry school.smh.

Saw my girl Sky in there.lol
I love the way the lady did my eyebrows.
My earring got more recognition then my shoes.lol
 edited--------
I stole these from the photgrapher's site.
