Miss Guinea NA

I thought it was so cute that these two young girls were inspired by me and wanted to interview me, so I sat down with them and answered a few questions. Take a look!

I ain't perfect nobody walkin this earth's surface is, but gf work with the kid.

I found this great Banana Republic tweed coat at the thrift the other day and instantly imagined 73989382989 things I could wear it with. I love how it brings a classy, feminie, and bit old-fashioned look to just about any outfit. My hair was all types of messy that day so I threw on my old LV bucket hat to distract from it. Hats are my favorite accessory in the whole wide wide world besides sunglasses. I'm always collecting them, and by collecting I mean stealing my moms from back in the day haha. I was also wearing this frilly red poncho underneath but all the photos with me wearing it were horrible. I posted one, and it's really bad but it was the best of the bunch.

Fashion changes, style never dies.

I'm one of those people who doesn't care for fashion rules, I do me every day. I don't dress based off the mannequins at the front of my favorite stores or even what my favorite celebrities wear. And trust me I know tons of people that worship these celebrities and clock they're every move, buliding their identity in accordance with people like Rihanna, Lady Gaga and such. I do admire their sense of style tho. Ok so our resources are limited and I know that we are all going to have the same basic pieces for each season because that's what they sell at the store, unless you make your own clothes (God bless those who do becuase lord knows I wish my sewing skills were that good)  But I'm saying to some degree our clothes will be similar but it's all in how you put it together. I don't think I can even describe my style becuase I take it day by day based on my mood, my creativity level, and the weather of course. The point is fashion and style don't necessarily go hand in hand. Fashion to me,  is always what is current and style is more personal, like what suits you not what everyone is wearing.
HOWEVER, certain trends you just have to let go, let it die, burn it whatever just don't go out in public and subject yourself to such humiliation.
So I've compiled a list of a few things we should all watch out for, now I'm not gonna say I've never done any of this because I swear I went through this ugly 80's phase with bright leggings/leg warmers/bright patterns alldat and when I look back at the pictures I can't believe I thought I was cute.

Grammys 2011

I got a few of the best dressed celebs at the 2010 Grammy's courtesy of TeenVogue.com
I thought the show this year was so weak. My only entertainment was the fact that I finally realized Usher is Justin Beiber's daddy and the best new artist, Esperanza Spalding has never been heard of by anyone I know -__- Welp, there is always next year!

Vintage Collection

Okay so I've been working on building my vintage handbag collection when I came across this beautiful 100% REAL crocodile skin bag! I am so in love with this thing and I refuse to tell where I got it from. *seals lips* I swear the quality of this bag is amazing, this joint is so sturdy! lol  It has a suede interior and gold detailing on the zipper and straps, to die for.

Words I Never Said

THIS is why Lupe Fiasco is my favorite MC. Not rapper. He is a genius. The song gave me goosebumps because this type of talent can't be appreciated by everyone, people like to live in ignorance. They rather hear about money, hoes, clothes, and cars. smh. In this song "Words I Never Said" ft. Skylar Gray, Lupe speaks about the real issues in America and the world. He calls out the media for being baised and racist and he blatenly says that he didn't vote for Obama, now that's real. And after he said that I was like that's it, he is a BOSS.

One of my favorite lines is this: "If you turn on TV, all you see's a bunch of what the fucks, Dude is dating so and so, blabbering about such and such And that ain't Jersey Shore, homie that's the news" so true.

I think our problem is as a people, we complain about so much but are too lazy to get up and do something about it, and that includes me. You complain about your leaders but do you vote? You think your community is bad, are you working to help fix it? You think the school system is unjust, did you contact the board?
Many of us are so afraid of going against the grain of society to help bring about the change that we need.
